Delete your account

Delete your nTher account in the app, or ask us to. This page says exactly what is deleted, what is kept, and why.

  • In the app: Settings › Account and security › Delete account
  • Or write to support@nther.com
On this page

Delete it in the app

This is the fastest way. Which steps you see depends on how you sign in.

Most accounts

You sign in with a password

  1. Open Settings › Account and security › Delete account.
  2. Read what is destroyed and what is not.
  3. Enter your password and tick I understand this cannot be undone.
  4. Choose Delete my account, then Delete the account.

Done at once.

JFSC

You sign in with TheDugout

  1. Open More › Settings › Account and security › Delete account ("Delete your JFSC account"). If your app has no More tab, open Settings from your profile picture.
  2. Read what is deleted and what is kept.
  3. Choose Delete my account and confirm.

No password is asked, but you must be signed in to JFSC; if you are not, the app asks you to sign in first.

What happens to a JFSC account

A JFSC account has three parts, held in three places. Deleting it deletes all three, in this order.

  1. Gullee's data for JFSC. JFSC's league platform, run by Gullee, is asked first. It deletes your contact details, date of birth, photograph, sign-in and sessions, device tokens, sizes, emergency contact, payment records, availability answers, squad and club places, and the messages sent to you.
  2. Your TheDugout account. When the league's platform has done its part, it asks our servers to delete your TheDugout sign-in, and they do.
  3. Your chat account. At the same time, our servers deactivate and erase your nTher chat account, as for any other account (below).

The last two can take a while. The app shows what is done and what is still to finish, and signs you out of the profile on that phone. If the league's platform refuses or cannot be reached, nothing is deleted, and the app says why.

What JFSC's league platform keeps

Your match performances and every ball, your team and tournament appearances, and financial records for as long as the law requires. They are kept as records of the league, under the name they were played under, and are not anonymised. To ask about them, contact JFSC.

What happens to any other account

  • The account is deactivated at once. It can no longer sign in, and its ID is never given to anyone else.
  • Your name, profile picture and the messages you sent that the server can still erase are erased.
  • The profile is removed from the phone you deleted it on, with its keys and its stored messages. Other profiles on that phone are not touched.
  • Your notification tokens and your signed-in devices are removed.

What is kept, and why

  • Messages already delivered to other people stay in their copies. They are theirs, and conversations carry on for their other members.
  • Photos, videos and files you sent stay on our servers after your account is deleted. Write to support@nther.com and we will erase them.
  • Aura's record of your questions stays with your organisation's platform administrators; the words of each question are deleted 90 days after it was asked.
  • Records used to improve Aura are deleted within 30 days.
  • Call recordings made by the person who started a call stay with the organisation until it deletes them.
  • Backups of our servers hold copies for at most 360 days, then are destroyed.
  • Records the law requires us to keep, for as long as it requires.
  • For JFSC, the league's own records (above).

Ask us without the app

If you no longer have the app, or cannot sign in, write to support@nther.com from the email address on your account, with the subject Delete my account, your username and your organisation (for example JFSC).

We may ask you to confirm the request, so that nobody else can delete your account. For a JFSC account we pass the request to JFSC's league platform as well. We tell you when it is done.

Only want to stop using it on one phone?

You do not need to delete your account. In Settings, Sign out ends this device's sign-in only, and Remove profile forgets the profile on this device only. Your account stays, and you can sign in again.
